Brain is a personal dashboard built and used only by Lou Cesario. It is not a public service: there are no other users, no sign-up and no accounts besides Lou's own. This page explains what Brain does with the data it can access.
Who uses it
Only Lou Cesario, signed in with his own Google and Microsoft accounts. Brain runs on Lou's own computer and is reachable only from his own devices.
What it accesses
- Gmail: message headers (sender, recipients, subject, date) to show which threads need a reply, and a thread's text only when Lou opens it. With Lou's click it can send a reply or a new email, save a draft, mark mail read, or move mail to Trash.
- Google Chat: who each conversation is with, when it was last active and whether it's unread; message text only when Lou opens a conversation. With Lou's click it can send a message.
- Google Workspace directory: names, to show who a conversation is with.
What it keeps
Brain keeps names, domains, dates and subjects on Lou's own computer so his dashboard can show them. Message text is read when Lou opens a thread and is not stored. Sign-in tokens are kept on that computer in files only Lou's account can read.
Who it's shared with
Nobody. Data is not sold, rented, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. When Lou asks Brain to summarise a thread or draft a reply, the text of that thread is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to produce the summary or draft; Anthropic processes it under its commercial terms and does not use it to train models. Nothing else leaves Lou's computer except the emails and messages Lou chooses to send.
Google API data
Brain's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
Access can be removed at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Brain's local copy of the data can be deleted by removing it from the computer it runs on.
